Screen Uniformity and Banding Test
Uniformity problems affect larger areas of a display rather than one isolated pixel. PixelExams uses near-black, gray, white, and gradient patterns to make uneven brightness, dirty screen effect, tinting, clouding, and visible banding easier to inspect.
Use near-black and black in a dim room, then examine medium gray and white at a normal viewing angle. Broad patches, vertical or horizontal bands, edge shading, or persistent color tint may be easier to see on these neutral fields than during normal video or web content.
Gradient screens should transition smoothly. Visible steps can come from the panel, signal path, compression, display settings, or limited color depth, so the pattern identifies what you can see rather than diagnosing the exact cause.
PixelExams is a guided visual inspection utility. It does not automatically diagnose hardware defects, calibrate a display, or determine warranty eligibility.
