PixelExams™

Screen Burn-In and Image Retention Test

Use medium gray and solid-color screens to look for persistent interface shapes, logos, keyboard outlines, status bars, or other ghost images that remain visible when the content changes.

OLED and AMOLED displays can develop uneven wear when the same bright elements remain on screen for long periods. Temporary image retention can look similar to permanent burn-in, so one visual check cannot prove which condition is present. Compare several colors and allow the display to return to normal content before rechecking.

PixelExams generates the patterns locally in the browser and does not capture or upload your screen. If a television or phone provides a manufacturer pixel-cleaning or panel-refresh feature, use that feature according to the manufacturer instructions rather than applying pressure to the panel.

PixelExams is a guided visual inspection utility. It does not automatically diagnose hardware defects, calibrate a display, or determine warranty eligibility.
